The four tiers are account levels: Explorer, Maker, Merchant, Partner. Affiliate, Dropship and Wholesale are the cooperation models — how a partner sells, not how we grade them — and the two vocabularies are kept apart on purpose, so a level is never named after a model. Explorer is free to join and earns 20% commission on tracked orders; the purchasing tiers are Maker at 30% off retail, Merchant at 40% off retail, Partner at 50% off retail. Orders ship free from Merchant upward. Tiers are reviewed every quarter.
How to apply
- Open the application form on the /wholesale page and describe what you sell, where you sell it, and roughly how much you move.
- We review the application and reply with the tier your numbers qualify for.
- Approved partners are issued an account and a one-time password for the /partner portal.
- Sign in to see the price list for your own tier, and order from there.
Applications are reviewed by a person, not a rule, and we aim to reply within two business days.
What the application asks for
The form is deliberately specific, because the alternative is an email thread that takes a week.
- Your name, your company or brand name, and the country you trade from.
- Which of these you are: an individual or side business, an online seller, a creator or influencer, a boutique or physical store, or a small brand.
- Which channels you sell through, and a link to each one — your own website, a marketplace shop link, or a social handle. A working link is what makes a review fast, because it is how we confirm the business is real.
- How much you expect to order (one-off — testing the water first; monthly; every few months; seasonally — peaks around the holidays; as needed, when stock runs low) and how often.
- Tax information, stated as a type as well as a number — US EIN, US Resale Certificate, VAT / GST number, I do not have one yet. US resale certificates are what allow resale-exempt purchasing; a VAT number does not have the same effect, which is why the two are asked for separately.
- Two separate acknowledgements: Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) and Wholesale returns policy. They are collected separately because they are different promises — MAP is a restriction the partner accepts, and the returns policy is what the partner’s own customers will experience.
A tax ID is stored with the application only. It is never published and never emailed back to the applicant.
What happens after you apply

Approved and active are different things on purpose: approval means we said yes, and active means the partner actually signed in. If an application is still waiting after 24 hours a reminder is raised internally, and the applicant is sent a short message confirming it is still in the queue.
Where to send the link
Links are collected per channel (Your own website, Shop link (Etsy, Amazon, marketplace), Social handle), so an applicant who sells on a marketplace can give the shop URL rather than a personal profile, and one who sells only through social can give the handle.
Why the price list is not published on this page
Wholesale prices are deliberately not public. A price list that anyone can read is a price list no partner can compete on, and publishing it invites exactly the public discounting the programme exists to prevent.
Instead, the price list is served per account. After an approved partner signs in at /partner, our backend returns the buying column for the tier that account holds and nothing else. Per-SKU prices are never sent to a browser that is not signed in as an approved partner — hiding them in the page source would not be access control, so the API refuses the request outright.
Affiliate accounts do not receive buy prices at all; they earn commission on tracked orders instead.

Pearls supplied under this programme
Pieces supplied through the programme are built around genuine cultured freshwater pearls with naturally irregular baroque forms. Baroque describes shape: it is not an origin, a grade, or a treatment. Genuine is not a synonym for natural, and naturally coloured is not the same as undyed — where a batch is undyed, that is stated rather than assumed.
Metal and finish vary by design. No catalogue-wide claim is made about silver, gold, plating, hypoallergenicity, or water resistance. Pearl type, metal, finish and dimensions are recorded on each product page because they differ between pieces.

Trade terms
- Qualifying volumes: Maker is $300 per quarter, Merchant is $800 per quarter, and Partner is $5,000 or more per year by agreement. Tiers are reviewed every quarter and rise with volume.
- Orders are paid in full at checkout by card or PayPal. Invoiced Net 30 terms are reviewed manually for established accounts and are not automatic.
- Wholesale orders are packed and dispatched from the studio, typically within 7–14 business days. Tracking is emailed when the parcel leaves us.
- Wholesale orders are eligible for exchange or store credit only — no cash refunds. A piece that arrives defective or damaged is replaced at no cost, and quality issues must be reported within 14 days of delivery.
- Minimum advertised price applies: partners agree not to advertise PoetPearl pieces below the recommended retail price.
- There are no lock-in quantities — reorder what sells.
- Customs duties and import fees on international orders are the buyer’s responsibility.
- Asset library photography and video may be used for PoetPearl pieces only, never for a different supplier’s stock.
- White-label and exclusivity arrangements are available to Partner-tier accounts and are reviewed individually.

- Do I need to buy inventory?
- No. Start with Affiliate, which costs nothing and needs no stock, or with Dropship, where we ship to your customer. You only buy wholesale once you are ready to hold stock.
- Are the pearls real?
- Every piece is built around a genuine cultured freshwater pearl. Baroque describes the pearl’s shape — an irregular, non-spherical form — not a grade, an origin or a treatment, and not a claim that the pearl formed without cultivation. Pearl type, metal, finish and dimensions are stated on each product page because they differ between designs; where a piece is undyed or unreshaped, its own page says so.
- What are the tiers, and how do I qualify?
- Explorer is free to join and earns 20% commission. Maker qualifies at $300 per quarter and buys at 30% off retail. Merchant qualifies at $800 per quarter and buys at 40% off with free shipping. Partner is $5,000 or more per year by agreement, and buys at 50% off. Tiers are reviewed every quarter and rise with your volume.
- How fast do you ship?
- Wholesale orders are packed and dispatched from our studio, typically within 7–14 business days, and tracking is emailed when the parcel leaves us. Transit from there is usually 3–5 days in the US (USPS), 5–7 days in the EU (DHL) and 7–10 days in other regions. Duties and customs fees on international orders are the buyer’s responsibility.
- Is the packaging branded?
- By default your orders ship in PoetPearl packaging. White-label options are available at the Partner tier.
- When do I get paid?
- Affiliate commissions are paid monthly by PayPal once your balance reaches $50, after the 30-day return window.
